Hard Pressed Studios was founded in 2004 by artists John Carr and Karen Fiorito with the mission of creating high quality fine art screen prints and posters from a progressive perspective.

We create and sell our own prints, plus offer printmaking services to visual artists of all kinds. We are experienced designers and printers who can take any print project from concept to completion.

Karen Fiorito is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and has recently exhibited in Tokyo, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston and Washington, DC. Her artwork has appeared in Art in America, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Boston Phoenix, the LA Weekly, the Phoenix New Times and the Philadelphia City Paper. From March 2004 until January 2005, a billboard in downtown Phoenix, Arizona displayed one of her montages. From June to July 2005 Karen had a Fox News parody billboard project up in Los Angeles, with helpful funds from the Puffin Foundation. She received her Master's in Fine Art in Printmaking from Arizona State University and her B.F.A. from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
